So last Sunday night I fell asleep on the couch.

When I woke up it was very late, and there was some sort of Infomercial playing in the TV. It was for a product named ‘Yoga Booty Ballet.’ One infers that this item uses yoga, to enhance and tone your booty, Umm… So that your better at ballet?

For quite some time I couldn’t change the channel. A dozen or so enthusiasts/models with a wardrobe that seemed to be a combination of 1970’s TV hippies and I Dream of Jeanie cavorted about the screen waving silk scarves. It looked a lot like Rhythmic Gymnastics from the Olympics, but with more bare waists upon display. Eventually, when the number of shots showing the video began to exceed those showing actual YBB, I changed the channel.

I then stumbled onto an episode of ‘Monty Python’s Flying Circus.’ It seemed a bit odd, and it took me a while to realize that everyone was speaking in German, with English subtitles. After a while I realized that they weren’t just speaking German, they were speaking phonetic German. As if they had memorized what their lines sounded like. I suppose it was sort of like a Python Opera, where the performers didn’t necessarily speak the language, but were just making the noises that came out of their mouths sound right.

That Graham Chapman must have been quite an actor. In one skit, where he played an American tourist, he seemed to speak German (phonetic German) with an American accent. Then he was thrown out of a window by John Cleese.

After the defenestration skit I changed the channel back to see a bit more Yoga Booty Ballet, but that program had ended and now a rather shrill woman was touting an exciting new computer program that would help me in the fast paced world of currency trading.

Then I went to bed.
